August’s photo is technically cheating… it is taken from New Jersey instead of New York. However, there is no other vantage in the city to get a better sunrise shot of downtown Manhattan. This shot was taken over the summer at sunrise. The soft warm light coming from behing the buildings lights up the sky while the buildings themselves are somewhat shielded from the sunlight and retain their dark blue color. The contrast makes this photo incredibly interesting to me.
