Above the Clouds: July Challenges

Hi everyone, Chase here!

I have a few goals in mind for my social media this year, and one of them is to grow my Instagram and TikTok following. Right now, the best way to grow on both of those platforms is short-form video, so I am trying out how it feels to post A TON. Every day in the month of July, I am posting three videos per day to TikTok and two videos per day to Instagram.

The first daily video I post is the second round of my “Day in the Life” series. I film little pieces of my day, and each morning before I go to work I edit it together and then record a voiceover where I explain what happened throughout my day. My main goal with this series is to show people my routines and bring them along as I work, play, edit, and live my life in NYC!

The second daily video is a new series I am calling “Photo of the Day.” I challenged myself to take a photo, edit it, and post it every day for 30 days. This causes me to be creative, to get out and shoot, and to practice editing on the fly. This series has helped me to diversify my normal photography techniques to keep things fresh.

My TikTok-exclusive third video differs from day to day. Sometimes I’ll post tutorials, or short vignettes from my day. Basically I’m allowing myself a little more freedom to create and share my life and art with people.

Doing all of this in addition to my full-time job, social life, and sleep schedule has been a lot, but so far it has been incredibly rewarding! I am feeling creative and inspired, and I am looking forward to seeing where this type of dedication can take me.

Do you set goals and challenges for yourself? How do you hold yourself accountable to achieve those things? Stay tuned for the next post later this month, where I’ll let you know the top three things I learned from this experience!
