May’s photo was taken in my hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. I took this photo on a school playground while on a walk with my wife. I looked up as we passed the hoop, and I saw the moon peeking out behind the backboard. I knew I had to capture it. I had to almost lay down on the ground to get the composition exactly right. I love the minimalist feel of this photo. The clear blue sky is the perfect backdrop to draw focus toward the hoop and the moon. I love basketball, so I had to include this photo in the calendar this year.
